Brief Description: The collection consists of letters, loose manuscripts as well as bound manuscript volumes, notes, notebooks, legal documents, rabbinical certificates.  Included are:  letters to and from rabbinical and scholarly figures; rabbinical responsa, novellae and commentaries on the Bible, the Talmud and liturgical texts; prayers; cabbalistic and ethical works; sermons; Hebrew dictionaries and other grammatical works; communal documents, such as registers and minute-books; folklore material, such as cookbooks; miscellaneous historical documents.      The bulk of the collection is arranged by country. Included are materials from Austria, Czechoslovakia, England, France, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Morocco, Tunisia, Palestine, Poland, Rumania, U.S., Russia, the U.S.S.R., Yugoslavia.  Authors consist for the most part, of rabbinical figures. Included are Rabbis: Ezekiel ben Yehudah (Nodah B'yehudah), Abraham Tiktin, Gedaliah Tiktin, Israel Joshua Trunk, Abraham Abusch Lissa of Leszno, Meir Loeb ben Jehiel Michael Malbim, Meir Simhah Ha-Kohen of Dvinsk.      Communal documents include: proceedings of the rabbinical court of Metz for 1771-1790; records of the rabbinical court, Frankfurt am Main, 1722-1795; register of the Jewish community of Oberndorf (Wurttemberg), 19th century. Album relating to the Sephardic community in Yugoslavia.
