Brief Description: The collection consists of a wide variety of Yiddish theater materials gathered by Perlmutter, and includes Perlmutter's personal papers.      About 1,300 manuscripts of Yiddish plays from the U.S. and Europe.  Letters to Perlmutter from actors and playwrights as well as theatrical personalities. Correspondents include Jacob Adler, Sigmund Feinman, Jacob Gordin, Jacob Kalich, David Kessler, Paul Muni, Noah Nachbush, Alexander Olshanetsky, Molly Picon, Zalman Reisen, Joseph Rumshinsky, Ludwig Satz, Maurice Schwartz.      Music of the early Yiddish theater in Europe and the U.S.  483 operettas and plays with music.  Directors' copies with texts and instrumental parts.  Liturgical music, songs, compositions and printed sheet music.  Manuscripts by Joseph Brody, G. Finkelstein, Louis Friedsell, Abraham Goldfaden, J. Gropper, Alexander Olshanetzky, Arnold Perlmutter, J.M.
