The Boys' Congregation was founded in the East New York section of Brooklyn in 1911 by Louis Meisler to provide activities for Orthodox Jewish youth. The Boys Congregation together with the Sisterhood were affiliated with the Talmud Torah Tifereth Israel, a school which was Modern Orthodox and Zionist in orientation. The Boys' Congregation was divided into clubs which were administered by the young people. Each of the clubs had a membership of about 15-25, elected its own officers and presented its own programs such as sermons and study groups on a Jewish theme.  All of the clubs came together for Sabbath and holiday services.  Members of the Boys' Congregation also participated in athletic events and went on picnics and other outings.  The Boys' Congregation was dissolved during the years 1975-1978
