Born in Germany, Wagner was a pioneer of the television industry in post-World War II America. He founded Wagner International Photos, a leader in its field for fifty years. He was the host and writer of Alternative Medicine. For more than thirty years, he hosted The Jewish Entertainment Hour, a popular television show that gave performers from around the world, especially Israel and Russia, the chance to reach an audience in the United States. Among the hundreds of famous individuals interviewed for this program were Jackie Mason, Abba Eban, and Shlomo Carlebach. Prior to the launch of this television program, Wagner also hosted a Jewish radio program, the Gary Wagner Freilich Time. Gary Wagner died in New York in 2002.
